LOGOS Theatre began its activity on November 2, 1987, on the initiative of Fr. Waldemar Sondka. On that day, the first performance - All Souls' Day - had its premiere. So far, LOGOS has prepared 62 premiere performances and played almost 2,350 shows.
On 2 November 2025, the Theatre will celebrate its thirty-eighth birthday by presenting its 2,350th performance in its history!!
In its activity so far, artists under the direction of Director Waldemar Sondka have addressed themes of life, death, relationships with people, and with God on stage. The actors of LOGOS theatre, together with the audience, have experienced joy, euphoria, fear, pain, longing, and a series of inexpressible yet profound emotions on stage.
The creators permanently associated with the Theatre include figures such as: Bogusław Kierc, Ewa Wycichowska, and Lech Wieleba. It is impossible to list all the actors from Polish theatrical stages who have passed through the LOGOS stage.
During more than thirty-seven years of activity, the creators have reached for texts such as: In Front of the Jeweler's Shop, The Little Prince, The Dead from Spoon River, Dialogues of the Carmelites, Salome, The Tricks of Reynard the Fox, and in recent years also The Divine Comedy, Bitter Laments, and Conversations with the Devil. The Great Sermon of Father Bernard. These sometimes great dramatic stories have been captured in the intimate, almost private space of the theatrical hall, which audiences continuously appreciate.
The importance and significance of the theatre for Łódź's cultural space is demonstrated by a series of positive reviews and the unwavering interest in performances, which allows the theatrical hall to be filled to capacity.

LOGOS Theatre operates at the Rectoral Church of Creative Communities. This Church and LOGOS Theatre form the center of Christian culture in Łódź. In November 2004, Archbishop Władysław Ziółek, Metropolitan of Łódź, erected the European Culture Center LOGOS here, which obtained the status of a public benefit organization. It is a prestigious meeting place for creative, scientific, and intellectual communities. Not only theatrical performances take place here, but various cultural events. The Center has its own gallery, and among those exhibiting their works were: Prof. St. Fijałkowski, Prof. St. Rodziński, Jan Lebenstein, Prof. Jerzy Nowosielski, Jerzy Duda-Gracz, Prof. Andrzej Kabała, Tadeusz Siara, Krzysztof Skórczewski.
The importance of this place is also recognized by city and provincial authorities. Proof of this is the Łódź City Award granted to the Theatre in 1997, the Honorary Medal of the Łódź Voivode granted to Fr. Waldemar Sondka in 1998, and the Łódź City President's Award for Fr. Waldemar Sondka and Jolanta Kowalska. In 2000, on the occasion of the theatre's 15th anniversary, the Łódź City President's awards were received by: Fr. Waldemar Sondka, Jolanta Kowalska, Nina Tarłowska, and Marek Targowski. In 2000, the Theatre, and in 2007, Fr. Waldemar Sondka, received nominations for the Totus Tuus award in the category of achievements in Christian culture.
LOGOS Theatre is a form of pastoral care for both those who create it and those who sit in the audience. It provokes reflection, searching for ways to reach God and fellow human beings. On September 24, 2017, Fr. Waldemar Sondka received the Extraordinary Golden Mask "for consistently building the LOGOS Theatre brand in Łódź for 30 years, with a repertoire at an invariably high artistic and intellectual level." In 2023, the Theatre received the medal "Recognition for actions for the development of Łódź awarded on the occasion of the city's 600th anniversary"

In the achievements of LOGOS Theatre, what counts above all is the experience of a community of people discovering their humanity in art and culture. During thirty-seven years of activity, the ensemble has performed abroad 40 times: in Germany, England, Wales, Switzerland, Holland, Belgium, Italy, France, Spain, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Hungary, the United States, and Slovakia. 186 performances were presented abroad.
LOGOS also supports the development and relationships with other creators of Christian culture - in 2017, Theatre artists participated in the Christian Theatres Forum held at the Catholic University of Lublin, and in 2018 they presented the performance "Chairs" directed by Ewa Wycichowska during this event.
LOGOS Theatre has a permanent place on the cultural map of Łódź. As Professor Irena Sławińska from the Catholic University of Lublin emphasized, it is the only Christian theatre in Poland, and perhaps in Europe, operating on such a wide scale.
